I saw that all beings are fated to happiness: action is not life, but a way of wasting some force, an enervation. Morality is the weakness of the brain.
Idle youth, enslaved to everything; by being too sensitive I have wasted my life.
But, truly, I have wept too much! The Dawns are heartbreaking. Every moon is atrocious and every sun bitter.

Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud died in Marseille, France on this day in 1891 (aged 37).
"The Sleeper in the Valley" (1870) by Arthur Rimbaud
It’s a green hollow, where a river is singing
Crazily hanging on the grasses rags
Of silver; where the sun, from the proud mountain,
Is shinning: it’s a little valley bubbling with sunlight.
A young soldier, his mouth open, his head bare,
And the nape of his neck bathing in cool blue watercress,
Is sleeping; he is stretched out on the grass, under the skies,
Pale in his green bed where the light falls like rain.
Feet in the gladiolas, he is sleeping. Smiling like
A sick child would smile, he takes a nap:
Nature, rock him warmly: he is cold.
Fragrances do not make his nostrils quiver;
He sleeps in the sun, hand on the breast,
Peacefully. He has two red holes in his right side.

Horatio Walpole, 4th Earl of Orford, also known as Horace Walpole, was an English art historian, man of letters, antiquarian and Whig politician. Wikipedia Born :  September 24, 1717,  London, United Kingdom Died :  March 2, 1797,  Berkeley Square, London, United Kingdom Movies :  Castle of Otranto Parents :  Robert Walpole ,  Catherine, Lady Walpole Quotes The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think. The whole secret of life is to be interested in one thing profoundly and in a thousand things well. Justice is rather the activity of truth, than a virtue in itself. Truth tells us what is due to others, and justice renders that due. Injustice is acting a lie.
